The No Blind Buys monthly challenge: points, prizes and Owulo Ambassadors

Owulo Skin is your AI skincare auditor. These are the rules for the No Blind Buys challenge ("No Blind Buys"), a points challenge that runs every calendar month, and for the Owulo Ambassadors programme. At the end of each month the top 5 on points become Owulo Ambassadors and the top 3 places win a gift voucher for a store of their choice, valued in US dollars. Updated 14 October 2026.

1. When a friend counts

A friend counts for you when they create an Owulo account through your invite link (owuloskin.com/pass/...) or by entering your invite code when they sign up, and then finish signing up, which means answering the short questions about their skin and goals that set up their profile. In these rules, that is a friend who has joined through your link.

• Each person can be brought by one member only. The first valid link or code they use is the one that counts, and it cannot be changed later.
• The link or code has to be used within 14 days of the friend's account being created, so people who were already members cannot be claimed.
• You cannot use your own link or code, and a second account of yours never counts.
• Every member has one invite code and it stays the same. Older links you shared keep working, and every Receipt you share carries your link.
• Making an account and finishing sign-up cost nothing, so a friend never has to buy anything to count.

2. The No Blind Buys challenge: one challenge every month

No Blind Buys runs as a monthly challenge. Each challenge is one calendar month, from 00:00 on the 1st to 23:59 on the last day of the month in your own time zone (the time zone of your phone or browser), and is named after its month. The first challenge is the November challenge, which runs from 20 October to 30 November 2026 (42 days, with no reset on 1 November); from December 2026 each challenge is one calendar month. You earn points for showing up for your skin, scanning products, posting in the community and inviting friends. On the 1st of the next month the top of the leaderboard become Owulo Ambassadors and the top 3 places win vouchers (section 4). Your points go back to zero at your own midnight on the 1st, and the leaderboard compares each member's own month.

Challenges

Every later month follows the same pattern and is listed here before it starts. The dates are calendar dates in your own time zone. Winners are announced at 19:00 South African Standard Time (SAST, UTC+2) on the 1st of the next month, after the month has ended in every time zone.

Who can enter and how you are entered

• Who can enter: anyone with an Owulo account aged 13 or over (section 6), including members on the free account. No purchase is necessary to enter, to earn points or to win.
• Ways to earn by plan: every member can earn points by posting in the community, inviting friends and the product scans their plan includes. Some app features that earn points are part of Owulo Pro, so a member with Owulo Pro may have more ways to earn each day. The points for each action are the same for everyone.
• You are entered automatically: there is nothing to join or sign up for. When you create an Owulo account, on any plan, you are entered into that month's challenge, and your points count from that day (your first points day). On the 1st of every month (your own 1st, in your time zone) every member is entered into the new month's challenge automatically, with points from that day, and we send a short notification that the new month has started.
• One month at a time: points count in the month they are earned in, and do not carry over to the next month.
• The first challenge: the November challenge runs from Tuesday 20 October to Monday 30 November 2026, and its winners are announced on Tuesday 1 December 2026. Everyone with an account is entered automatically; points count from 20 October (or from the day you join, if later). Points earned before 20 October do not count. There is no October challenge.

3. Points

Every way to earn points is listed here, including the bonuses the app keeps as a surprise. Days are counted in your own time zone.

• Daily scan: a completed daily check-in photo, or a completed deep scan, on your day. Either one counts, once a day; doing both earns 10, not 20. A deep scan that skipped the camera's quality checks does not count; a check-in always does.
• Milestones: bonuses for a daily scan on every day, with no missed days, counted from your first points day in the month: 10 points for a daily scan on each of your first 3 days, 20 points for each of your first 7 days (week 1), 30 points for each of your first 14 days (week 2), 40 points for each of your first 21 days (week 3) and 50 points for each of your first 28 days (week 4). One missed day means the milestones after it cannot be reached that month. Each is paid once a month, as soon as you reach it. Only days inside the month count, so a member who starts late in a month can reach only the milestones that still fit.
• 7 days in a row: 20 points on the 7th, 14th, 21st and every further 7th day of a run of daily scans with no day missed.
• Scan a product: each product Owulo finds in a scan you make earns 10 points, up to 10 products a day. This includes a single product, a screenshot, an ingredients photo, and a photo of your whole routine or shelf: in a routine or shelf scan, every product Owulo identifies counts on its own. The same product earns once a month, however often you scan it. Products you add by typing their name or by search are not scans.
• A product Owulo has never seen: when your scan adds a product to Owulo's catalogue for the first time, it earns 25 points instead of 10. This happens when no product in the catalogue matched yours and the scan created a new catalogue entry with a readable brand and name. It counts toward the 10 products a day.
• Firsts: 10 points for your first product scan of the month and 10 points for your first post of the month.
• Post in the community: a new post, including a result, Receipt or milestone you share to the community, earns 10 points, up to 5 a day. A post that is deleted or removed loses its points, and if it was your first post of the month, that bonus too (your next post can earn it again).
• Reply to someone: a reply to someone else's post or reply earns 5 points, up to 10 a day. Replies in a thread you started, and replies to yourself, do not earn points. A reply that is deleted or removed loses its points.
• Report a bug: post it in the Community under Bugs & Ideas, with up to 3 screenshots (free accounts too). When the Owulo team confirms it is a new bug, you get 15 points, with no limit. Duplicates of an earlier report and things that are not bugs earn no points, and a bug post does not earn the points for a community post.
• Share an idea: post it in the Community under Bugs & Ideas. Every time another member taps "Want this" on your idea you get 5 points, for the first 10 on each idea. Your own tap does not count, and when two members tap "Want this" on each other's ideas in the same week (Sunday to Saturday) neither counts. When the Owulo team marks your idea Planned (or Shipped) you get 15 more points, once per idea. A tap that is taken back loses its points; an idea marked as a duplicate of an earlier one loses its "Want this" points and earns no more; Planned points are lost if the idea is later marked Not Planned or a duplicate; and a removed post loses all of them. An idea post does not earn the points for a community post.
• Helpful bonus: every time another member marks your post or reply Helpful you get 5 points, with no limit. Your own mark does not count, each member can mark a post or reply once, and when two members mark each other's posts in the same week (Sunday to Saturday) neither mark counts. A mark that is taken back, or a post or reply that is removed, loses its points.
• Friends: 50 points when a friend joins through your link (section 1), and 100 more points when that friend makes their first real payment for Owulo Pro. A trial period, or an introductory period that costs nothing, is not a payment.
• Every 3 friends: +150 bonus points for every 3 friends who join through your link or code during the month: at your 3rd, 6th, 9th friend and so on. This is on top of the 50 points for each friend. Friends count from your first points day to the month's final day, and the count starts again at zero in the next month.
• A perfect month from daily scans alone is about 540 points in a 31-day month: 31 daily scans, every 7-day bonus and all five milestones.
• Points are earned only while the challenge is on, from your first points day to the month's final day. Points do not carry over to the next month.
• The leaderboard is in the app and at owuloskin.com/challenge. It shows community handles only, never real names. Members on the same points share a place.

5. Owulo Ambassadors

Owulo Ambassadors are members who bring people to Owulo and earn from it. The programme was previously called VIP Partners.

Ways in:

• Finish a No Blind Buys month in the top 5 on points, including everyone tied with 5th (section 4).
• By invitation from Owulo: we can also make a member an Ambassador, or end their Ambassador status, directly.

What an Ambassador gets:

• Commission: 10% of every payment made on the web (the Owulo website checkout) by people who subscribed through your link or code, for as long as those subscriptions run. Payments made through the App Store or Google Play earn no commission, because the stores take their own share. Once 10 people you brought have paid for Owulo Pro on the web (counted over all time), your rate rises to 15% for every web payment from then on, starting with the payment from your 10th paying member. The rate is set when each payment is made and earlier commission is not recalculated. Trials and introductory periods that cost nothing earn no commission. Commission is paid monthly, by bank transfer where we can make one, on request to support@owulo.com.
• Owulo Pro on us while you are active: in any calendar month (SAST) in which at least one person you brought makes their first real payment for Owulo Pro on the web, you get Owulo Pro for the whole of the next calendar month, on us. Payments through the App Store or Google Play do not count for this. This never changes or replaces a subscription you pay for yourself. This perk starts soon: we will put the start date on this page, and months before the start date do not earn it.
• Your own invite code: you can ask for a personal code, such as ADA, of 3 to 12 letters or digits. We approve it if nobody else has used it and it is suitable. Your standard code and every link you shared before keep working.
• Ambassador tag: shown next to your community handle wherever members are shown: posts and replies, threads, the leaderboard and your profile, and a place on the Ambassadors list in the app, shown by your community handle.
• A first look at new features.
• We may feature you on Owulo's Instagram and TikTok, only with your OK.

Your part:

• When you post about Owulo anywhere, label the post as an ad, for example with #ad or the word "affiliate", so people know you earn from it.
• The fair play rules in section 7 apply. Fake or duplicate sign-ups, or posts that are not labelled, can end your Ambassador status, and commission on payments that broke the rules is not paid.
• An Ambassador under 18 needs a parent or guardian to confirm that they agree before any commission is paid, and the commission goes to the parent or guardian. Pro on us needs no confirmation.
• An Ambassador keeps earning points, but is not chosen again as a monthly winner and does not win a monthly voucher (section 4).

Leaving the programme: tell us at support@owulo.com or from the app and we close your Ambassador status. Commission on payments made before you leave is still paid. Your invite codes keep working as ordinary invite links, without commission.

6. Who can enter, and winners under 18

• Anyone aged 13 or over with an Owulo account can take part, in any country where we can deliver an e-voucher and where taking part is allowed by law. Owulo is for people aged 13 and over.
• A voucher winner who is under 18, or who has no date of birth on their account, is not paid until we have confirmed their age. For a winner under 18, a parent or guardian must confirm that they agree, and the voucher is then sent to the parent or guardian's email address. The same applies to Ambassador commission.
• If we have not had that confirmation 14 days after the announcement, the voucher is forfeited. Other winners keep their places and vouchers; nobody moves up.
• We never publish the name or community handle of a winner who is under 18: they are shown as "Member".

7. Fair play

• One account per person. Fake, duplicate or automated sign-ups, self-referrals, accounts made only to raise a count, scans or posts made only to collect points, and anything else done to game the No Blind Buys challenge or commission are removed, and the joins, points, prizes and commission they produced are void. We may ask a winner to confirm their details before a prize is sent.
• Employees and contractors of the promoter cannot win prizes.
• Prizes cannot be transferred, and cannot be exchanged for cash except as set out in section 4, where no voucher for the chosen store can be bought and delivered in the winner's country.
• Winners are told in the app and by email. Winners' community handles are shown with the monthly results, except winners under 18. A winner can ask us not to show their handle.

9. Moving to these rules

From 6 October 2026 the weekly voucher draw and the Ambassador of the month have ended. No weekly draw runs for the week that started on Monday 5 October 2026 or later, and no Ambassador of the month is chosen for October 2026 or later. The friend bonus (section 3) replaces the weekly draw, and the monthly winners (section 4) replace the Ambassador of the month. From the same date the points table in section 3 replaces the earlier one (complete days, checkpoint scans and shares no longer earn points). From 7 October 2026 the 12 Weeks of No Blind Buys badges (Starter, Week 4, Week 8, Finisher and Perfect 12 Weeks), the Hall of Fame and the result card have ended; the milestone bonuses in section 3 replace them. From 7 October 2026 replies earn their own points and the Helpful bonus has no limit. The Founding Season opened on Sunday 11 October 2026. Journeys started before then on a Day 1 the member chose finish on their own dates and are not part of the challenge.

From 13 October 2026 the milestone bonuses need a daily scan on every day of the month so far (it was 85% of your days). A top 5 place no longer needs a daily scan on half of your days: points alone decide.

From 12 October 2026 the monthly vouchers are US$50, US$30 and US$20 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, and Ambassador commission is 20% (25% once 10 friends you brought have paid on the web), on web payments only; Owulo Pro on us also counts only friends who pay on the web.

From 14 October 2026 Ambassador commission is 10% (15% once 10 friends you brought have paid on the web), still on web payments only. Commission already earned before then is not recalculated.

From 14 October 2026 an idea posted in the Community under Bugs & Ideas earns points: 5 for each "Want this" from another member, for the first 10 on each idea, and 15 when the Owulo team marks it Planned (section 3).

From 12 October 2026 No Blind Buys is a monthly challenge. The 12-week seasons ended, and the Founding Season and its test points were withdrawn: the first challenge is the November challenge (20 October to 30 November 2026), and every later month is its own challenge with the same points, the same prizes and the same Ambassador places. Everyone is entered automatically, on any plan, and there is no Day 1, baseline scan, start date or joining deadline. The 30-day, 60-day and 12-week milestones ended; the milestones at 3 days and at the end of weeks 1 to 4 replace them. From the first challenge the top 5 each month become Owulo Ambassadors (it was the top 10 of each season).

10. Receipts

Every completed audit in the app creates a Receipt. A member can share a public Receipt link (owuloskin.com/r/...). The public page shows the verdict, the score, the grade, the number of clashes and the estimated money saved. The full ingredient breakdown and the fixes are shown only to the member in the app. A Receipt never shows an email address or a photo, and deleting your account stops your Receipts being shared.

11. Promoter and governing law

The promoter is Owulo (Pty) Ltd, trading as Owulo Skin, a company incorporated in the Republic of South Africa. Contact: support@owulo.com. No purchase is necessary to enter or to win: making an account costs nothing, and members on the free account can take part, earn points and win. This is how we plan to run the challenge, and it may change from time to time: we will tell you in the app and update this page before a change takes effect. The promoter may pause or end the No Blind Buys challenge, the monthly prizes or the Ambassadors programme with notice on this page. While they are paused, nothing counts towards them and no winners are announced; commission already earned is still paid. Personal information is handled under the Privacy Policy.

These rules are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, in the same way as our Terms of Service, without limiting any mandatory consumer rights you have under the laws of the country where you live. Where the law of your country does not allow you to take part in a prize competition, you are not eligible to enter.
